Modalities & Approach

I am a psychoeducational teacher at heart, and also understand that for new information to integrate and “stick” long-term, the knowledge needs to be experienced, and its impact witnessed. When we see your ability to implement and maintain new patterns even as stressors ebb and flow, this gives us tangible growth to witness. I like to think of seeing your growth, healing, and victories as sanctification in process.

I see how experiences, environment, patterns, cycles, lifestyles, and choices can impact gene expression overtime (epigenetics). When there is a predisposition that is filtered through dysfunction, we see disorder and a cycle of woundedness that can be further passed down not only genetically but reinforced through the patterns maintained by those around us and ourselves.

When I started noticing the impact, influence, and the redemptive qualities of epigenetics, I was moved to focus on the time of life where past and future collide into the tension of the present. I see this most pronounced in the perinatal population, as two family systems converge and establish movement toward legacy. However, the truth of this tension can be held by any individual recognizing their unhelpful beliefs and detrimental patterns. I think we see a touch of this in Paul’s reflection on the human experience, “I do the things I do not want to do, and do not do the things I want to do.” (Romans 7:15-20; my paraphrase).

I focus on patterns and parts (family systems and somatic IFS). The communities and experiences of our past and present shape how we view the world and ourselves. Multiple layers may contribute to how we move (or do not move) through pain. Wounds can hold hindering beliefs that bind us in dysfunctional cycles. I encourage awareness and the integration of the mind-body connection as we sift through the layers and implement patterns for a stronger present foundation and a healthier future. I take a look at the holistic self, as physical, psychological, social, and spiritual components interweave into the layers that can hold both wounds and healing. I desire to encourage and equip the whole self to show up authentically, intentionally, and redemptively.

My supporting goal is to invite a wholly integrated self to navigate life as authentically as possible. I like to think about the legacy we are equipping you to live out and then pass along to the next generation.

I implement and integrate multiple evidenced-based modalities. And, I interweave resources and tools like bilateral stimulation through the use of tappers, as well as movement. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) where we can sift through specific traumatic events or complex themes throughout a lifetime. If an individual is interested, I also refer to the attachment styles in How We Love, the MBTI, the Big Five, the enneagram, and the StrengthsFinder as tools to provide language/verbiage and help identify patterns.
